Pros and cons of Polythene vs fleece for small tunnel hoops.
Wondering which to go for to cover a garden tunnel (not a walk-in tunnel size)
I imagine polythene will generate heat better during the day when the sun shines which would keep young plants warm, but maybe not totally frost free in a hard frost. Ventilation could be an issue with polythene causing damping off problems.
The fleece I would imagine be better ventilation and warmer though wouldn't get too hot.
I've got a couple of heavy grade polythene sheeting which was quite a success last year. But I'm hoping to improve on it. I can't remember frost getting inside the tunnel, but I do remember the wind was an issue with it.
Fleece is a new one on me and is something I've not used before.

Over the next couple of weeks I'm hoping to spread quite a bit of grass seed over the lawn to repair large and small bare areas, I'm now thinking of spreading 'fleece alternative' over the seeded area to keep the pigeons and our dog off. The fleece lets in moisture and air so it might be ideal until the grass can withstand all attacks.

Think I'll be going for that one too.
