Seed pods on cactus

BiljeBilje Posts: 811
One of my cacti has pink pods on it. On squishing one I discovered it was a seed pod. The cacti have sat in my cold greenhouse all winter just being given the odd dribble of water. They seem to be doing fine, hurrah. The one in question is a round one bought for £1.50 at Wilko but has multiplied in size over the years and is now a cluster of four.
The point of my post is I’d like to attempt to germinate these tiny seeds and grow them on. I’ve looked at previous posts and have a good idea what to do with seed but what I have is a juicy pod with seeds in the “ juice” how do I separate them out to sow them? Many thanks

The"juice" often helps with germination.  If you want to experiment, spread the seed capsule out on to a bit of kitchen paper.  Sow half as they come and let the other half dry out before sowing.
I'd go for the former - plants often know better than we do and the juice is there for a reason - an aid to germination.
If you know what cacti you have, it may help others to advise :)
