I grow about 100 tubers so impossible to start them in pots so l just plant them into the ground from early May and by the time they are though the frost has finished

I too have a fair number of tubers, not a 100 though. I need to start all of mine in pots as the resident molluscs scoff the lot. I’ve started potting mine up as my back only allows me to do a few at a time. They go in a pot that they just fit into and are potted in fresh compost which is slightly damp, they’re not watered at this point. The pots are currently in the garage, cold greenhouse, and greenhouse floor. They won’t shoot until things warm up a bit then I swap them about. I’m in NE England.
I don’t take cuttings as I tend to be a tuber splitter. I was told by a professional grower that they only leave 5 stems on a plant. Obviously extra shoots can be used as cuttings
