  Ok, thank you for the advise 😁 there are a few stems coming of the main trunk so I'll see how it goes,

  I've had the same issue with 5 cordylines this year. 4 were older so have a reasonable amount of trunk left after sawing their top mushy bits off - fingers crossed now that they survive and throw new shoots up.
