Sorry @bcpathome I wasn't really telling you off but you know what sometimes happens when one species gets a bad name based on nothing more than lack of knowledge. People become wary and decide it has yo go for the supposed sake of the other species.
I know you weren't advocating that idea  and I'm sure you look after all your wild "visitors".  Sorry again if I upset you - it wasn't my intention :)
  • I've got 2 idiots here in a large trug, completely visible to predators, despite there being a perfectly serviceable pond about 3 feet away.  They're not in amplexus and I heard 1 croaking, so presumably they're both male :)

That’s good Rob,  as I said before ,  when they’re in mood,  they’re in the mood and nothing will stop them,  like those in my daughters outside loo.

Always lovely to see Lyn, as a harbinger of Spring even if you're less keen on "slimy things".  I had a quick squiz at the pond under cover of dark last night and there were perhaps 8 in there - most unaccompanied, but there were a couple in amplexus so hopefully we'll have some tads this year.  Just not from the gentlemen's club in the bucket :)
