    @Jenny_Aster - you'll be banging your head off the wall for evermore. Save yourself - walk away and have some painkillers. Much better for the blood pressure too   ;)

    I know we don't always agree re raised beds @nick615 - but, save yourself - run for the hills .... :D

    I can see why they do it, the dwarf variety don't crop for as long as the climbers.

    That’s because most of the modern dwarf varieties were developed to suit commercial growers. 

    Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

    I met him several  years ago when he gave talk at garden show in
    Philadelphia. and his new book came out.
