Fenugreek?other plants insect repellant?

Heard somewhere that garlic chives acts as a natural insect repellent.
Is this true of mustard plants or fenugreek plants please?

In the past I have sprayed neem leaves extract as a natural insect repellent but being an oil it does leave some stickiness on the plants. :/

Marigolds, I grow 100's from seeds and dot them around the garden. They keep our dog off plants too as he doesn't like the smell of them.

Does it keep white and black flies at bay too? My doggo is not the problem....Famous last words - I hope he doesn't change his ways this year though lol  :p

My dahlias last year had loads of blackfly, so I guess they didn't, but there's no way of knowing if they did deter some. I used the hosepipe to rinse them off plants as soon as I spotted them, using my fingers to help loosen them, not a pleasant job but it was very effective.

All that glitters is not gold.

All plants that smell are not insect repellents.

All neem products are not the same.

    Google said:
“Neem Extract” is NOT neem oil. “Neem Extract” products are marketed very, very carefully because they do not contain azadirachtin, which is the entire purpose of purchasing neem oil to begin with. This product may legitimately be “Neem Extract,” but it contains none of the benefits of real neem oil.
