Summer flowering bulbs

This may seem a rather silly question but can I plant bulbs (lilium Stargazer and Landini and Gladioli Alice) into the ground now?. It says on the package January onwards but will they be ok.. thanks

Not a silly question at all, but yes is the short answer for the lilies :)
As always though - make sure the ground is suitable - ie not frozen or waterlogged. Lilies don't mind some wet ground, but they'll rot if it's consistently too wet, so you can grow them in pots too, if that's the case.
They [Asiatic and orientalis ones] like good drainage and reasonable sun, so pick a suitable site.

Most Gladioli aren't hardy, so need to be potted up and kept until there's no frost.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
