I know there are some in the Mayfield valley, and some around Blacka Moor, which is where I live.
Ah, interesting - thanks. I had thought those Blacka Moor ones were mostly private, to do with the development on the old stables.

Not a good day to be an MP called Pollard.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

It's laughable when they come out with this sort of guff:

"The council said its final design changed after the “engagement programme” and would now include the planting of 169 semi-mature trees and a commitment to investigate wider tree planting in the city centre."

Yeah, the council just loves trees as long as they're out of the way and don't interfere with lucrative development.

North London is facing a wide spread removal of London planes, most over 100 years old. They have got very large on small streets and some are genuinely causing problems. The council is pretty much bankrupt and insurers are demanding the trees are taken out. It is a quandry being faced all over my neighbourhood.

Oh heck - what a dilemma. I don't recall the buildings insurance angle featuring in the Sheffield street tree debacle.

No, I am just adding to the "street tree woes" thread.

Sorry @Fire that wasn't a criticism :)  I was just surprised that Sheffield City Council and/or Amey hadn't used that as a further excuse for tree felling during the height of their stand-off with residents.

The planes are dividing communities down here. A lot of people don't understand pollarding and think of as "mutilation".
