Different strawberry varieties in same grow bag

I've never grown strawberries before! Hoping to try this year.
I've bought a vertical strawberry grow bag see photo below. Would it be ok to plant Cambridge and Romina strawberries in the same bag or is it better to stick to the same variety?

I find those types of containers pretty useless as they dry out too easily, and I don't live in a dry part of the country. You'll have to be very vigilant with watering and feeding to keep them healthy, or - sew/staple some of the openings shut.

The terracotta ones are very pretty, and were heavily promoted for a long time,  but are more suited to succulents. Ordinary pots are much easier to manage  :)

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • @Fairygirl I was debating whether it was good or not! I bought it last year from Amazon and ot was too late to plant. It had good reviews but now the reviews are not so good! Thank you for your honest view, Im going to stick with ordinary pots  :)

I don't want to put you off as such @sharanshrubs, but the reality is - they aren't  great!  :D
If they dry out, it's much harder to rehydrate them. I can't see the material types being much better in that regard than the terra ones either. They might even be worse.

There's no problem having different varieties in the same container, but you might find it better to keep them separate, to make cultivation a bit easier, especially once you start taking runners off etc.
Some varieties grow more quickly than others too, and get bigger, so it helps prevent one type crowding out another as well.  :)

I planted mixed varieties in that exact bag last year - Christine, Elsanta and Florence. It was lovely - they ripened at different times but I'd planted each on its own level so worked down them as the summer went on. We had a really good yield.

I won't be repeating the exercise this summer for the reason @Fairygirl mentioned - once runners are out, those bags are too small and a real pain to unwind one variety from another. This year I'll be moving the varieties so each has their own trough.
