It was just over £2k for supplying and installing. We’ve had some work done by them before so are happy with them. Sounds like it is a better option than gravel as it would be annoying having it overspill onto grass and brought in the house.
Another option could be resin bound gravel. Plenty of people installing it now, some are even doing it in eco-grids atop a compacted subbase.
Actually - you can sweep gravel. I did it for years where I worked, and still do it here in my garden occasionally. It's far better than a rake too The rain washes most stuff off it though, so it's only the odd amount of leaves that get caught in it.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
We’ve still not booked it in 😆 We are undecided. At least if we do the gravel/shingle we could do it any time. Decisions decisions. Thank you everyone for your help.
I was trying to sweep gravel a couple of days ago. Neighbours' Leylandii have shed all over it. It wouldn't sweep. Tried a leaf rake, worked better but not really as good as I wanted. I curse the gravel here every year. It's easier on the drive where the leaves are proper leaves, but when they get wet it's a pain in the neck.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Please send a video @Fairygirl 😉, I haven't got the knack!
Don't have the means to do that unless one of the girls could do the camera! You just pull the brush lightly across the top of the gravel at an angle. That brings all the loos stuff and debris together.
