Cape gooseberry Little Lantern

I have been given a packet of seeds and having looked online it seems the plant could be grown in a hanging basket. Has anyone tried this?

I've grown the basic Lantern but always in the ground and haven't come across the one you mention.
I'd imagine that the size of the basket would be a factor but even so  not the sort of plant I'd immediately associate with a trailing habit but new types are being introduced at a rate of knots.
Does the seed packet give height and habit at all ?
Perhaps others may have tried this particular one and will spot your query.

I've just planted seeds, Grajean. How did you get on with yours? My seedlings are about 3" but i dont know if they'll trail over the side of my tall raised beds or not. Mine are physalis edulis.

They grow to quite large plants and tend to spread.  I've always supported mine whether in the GH or raised beds outside to stop them taking over.  Last year was a pretty good harvest.

Not impressed with the plants, not growing them again.

@Grajean That's a shame.  Poor harvest or not suited to your space ?
