'bulk' buying plants- suggestions

earlydazeearlydaze Posts: 105
Hello all- I have previously bought trays of 30-40 plugs or young plants from Brookside Nursery and Woolmans- and for the most part been happy with the quality. I am wondering if anyone knows of any other nurseries who sell plants in these quantities? many thanks

Do you mean actual nurseries which grow and raise their plants on site or do you mean plant suppliers ?

@philippasmith2 I believe the two I have used previously grow their own- price is definitely a big consideration so imagine those that grow their own are better value?

I was going to suggest Brookside. Haven't found anyone else of such quality for plug plants yet.

thanks @WAMS- in which case I recommend Woolmans as well- was happy with them- they just dont have what I am currently looking for!

Most of the main seed suppliers offer plug plants, eg Thompson and Morgan, Dobies, Suttons etc.  They should also offer plant guarantees.  I’d do a price comparison with the suppliers you have used before and see if it’s worth giving another a try.

thanks @Plantminded- have not had best of luck with Suttons- very hit or miss in terms of quality- will have a look at Dobies....

I’ve often bought the 66 plug packs from J. Parker,  they need potting on but plenty of time.
