Is there such a thing as a 'quality' hot water bottle?

I use a Hotties Microwave Hot Water Bottle (got mine from Amazon).

    They stay warm for ages!

    How long do they last?

I have just replaced my last one after about 14 years.
Only use it in the winter.
It depends how often you use it really.
Just bought one for my Mum who tucks it behind her back when watching TV, she loves it!

Your hot water bottle is 6 years old which I think is too old to risk, it will have started to perish.  I change mine every 2 years.  All hot water bottles have the year of manufacturer embossed on the neck.  Yours is 17 - 2017.

I can't abide being hot in bed. Window open for fresh air. Thermostatic  foot poking out of low tog duvet. Hate sitting on a seat that's still warm from previous occupant's bottoom.  Don't like hot drinks . Love my north facing patio.
I think I might be weird.

Agree about the thermostatic foot - handy -  well, footy anyway.
I'd say as long as you are warm and weird that's perfectly acceptable  :D
  • Thank you for all the replies. Very informative reading.

It was about 2017 when I bought it for a pain issue, and I did not really use it after that. My feet are always cold from about September right up to about May. I used to keep using a powerfull hair dryer inside my slippers several times per day for those 9 months.

Of course, when the barmy energy prices came,  I went back to this same hot water bottle under my feet & a duvet over me (warm as toast) Filling it with boiling water (I know now!) about 5 times every  day. I started seeling the rubber bits about 3 weeks ago, but I did not know it was a time bomb ticking away. I was lucky. Lesson learned and lots of good advice on here. Thank you to you all. 🌷🌷🌷
