Any idea what this is?

It’s growing in a container which has an Agapanthus in. It’s seems to have a creeping habit and if pulled doesn’t want to come out. Low growing. Thanks

  • Pull a bit out and check the roots ?
  • I wondered if it was Self Heal but I don't think leaves are pointed enough?

    What will that tell me?

I wondered if it was Prunella (self heal) too. If you didn't plant it then it is probably a weed, or wildflower.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Are they individual  plants or connected by a root system ? That could discount some and help with an ID. If you didn't actually plant it, and you can't see anything similar in your locality, then presume it is a gift from a bird or just blown in.

Just Googled Prunella and leaves are similar.
  • @Saturdayboy Prunella or Self Heal has little runners.

Looks like a Prunella to me … I’ve got a very pretty ‘improved’ garden version of it … a pretty garden perennial.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Thanks everyone. As its contained in the pot i will probably leave it where it is for now. And see if it flowers to make it easier to  identify.
