I'm so envious, we've never seen any hedgehogs here in 16 years. Too many badgers probably.

Not when they break through fences and trash gardens they're not. There's just too many of them now.

I have seen them on camera shoving one another in the water dish etc. It always makes me smile when the agressor runs off and and the other uncurls oh so cautiously...
WOW, I was not expecting that at all Anni.

I saw my first hedgehog of the year last night, hooray!  I put my feeding station out and my camera as it was really mild last night, about 11 C, and it arrived at 1.30 am and fed for about 15 minutes.  Last year we saw up to 5 different ones so hopefully they’ll all be back soon.  Very pleased this morning ☺️

We've had a lot of hedgehog sightings this week, after taking in a couple that'd been caught up in football netting. Aside from the expected sightings, they'd both escaped and made it to our bedroom door on Friday.

I'll be glad for it to be time for them to get back outdoors later on now it's warmed up and the snow's melted!

Have you checked their weight @Astraeus ? Around 500 grams is a healthy weight for a hedgehog.

These two are whoppers, @AnniD! Both have been well fed since coming in. One in particular is comfortably, almost over, weight. The other is a happy size. I wouldn't like to be a slug coming up against the bigger of the two...!

I always put out food all winter as I have had hedgehogs visit throughout in the past.
Although I have yet to actually see a hedgehog this year one (or more?) has been visiting for the past week.Food all eaten and 'deposits' left so I know it is not cats!
Last year I had 2 distinct individuals visit.I had a couple of years with no sightings but hopefully numbers are increasing round here.
