Fibre biodegradable pots - do they stunt growth?

I used biodegradable pots last year and a lot of the seeds failed to germinate. I put that issue down to poor quality seeds.

I recently read a review on Amazon about those pots whereby someone said he grew the same seeds, some in those biodegrable pots, and others in regular plastic pots. He noticed that seeds in the plastic pots fared better and that those in the biodegradable pots, were hit and miss, and those that did sprout, grew quite weak.

Anyone have direct experience of using biodegradable pots and your success rate please?

I always use them. I try to avoid plastic wherever possible. I had less good germination last year but put that down to using coir which is useless for seeds. Back to proper seed compost this year. In previous years they have been fine and are ideal for any seeds which dislike root disturbance. Last year I recommended them to a friend who was struggling to grow morning glories and she had a bumper crop!
