Moving Winter Aconites - Eranthis

  • @punkdoc In my garden I have them growing in large chunks[for want of a better word]. The photo suggests that they are growing individually so they may be more fiddly to move. As you say they are not happy in some gardens and can fail.
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    I'd have thought they'd do well for you @punkdoc. That's interesting. Maybe a bit like lily of the valley - some people can't get it to survive and others can't get rid of it. No rhyme or reason.

    There's a house quite near me which has a seriously ugly greeny/turquoise fence, but there's a long, very narrow border on the pavement side - it's full of snowdrops and aconites just now.  :)  
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    @Fairygirl, I now have a few quite reasonable clumps, but it was very hit and miss finding places they liked.
