@Kathryn80 Welcome if you are visiting forum for the first time you will be unaware of previous posts. So many gardeners are concerned about their Agapanthus. Evergreen should be under glass over the winter months. There is little you can do at present but wait. Mushy roots is when you know you have a real problem. I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
It depends on whether they are the perennial or deciduous type. The evergreen ones are much less hardy than the others.
The leaves always look awful at this time of year, but as long as the roots aren't mushy too, you could be in with a chance. It's 'wait and see' time!
Mine are all in the greenhouse, but look dead until you look deep in the leaves or examine the roots. Winters here are too wet and cold for me to risk leaving them outside.
