How have your hebes coped with this winter?

    Two of mine look quite dead and I think I'm going to bin them and not get any more.

    I think you just said I could, nay, should buy more plants, didn't you, @B3? That should be doable. 😉 

    Bit of a shame about this hebe, as I bought it and planted it for the previous owner of this house. I won't hurry to dig it up, but it looks pretty stuffed, tbh.

    My hebe's been absolutely fine this year.

    However, 2 winters ago it was hit hard by a freezing snowy week and had a lot of blackened stems and die back. It did eventually recover. I waited until spring to see where there was any regrowth from buds, and cut everything else off.  It took more than a year for it to look bushy and healthy again.
  • I only have one, variegated hebe, growing in a large container next to the front door where it is fine. No damage at all. Last year it looked very battered at this time so it obviously depends on exactly what weather happens when and how much.
