I am not a camellia fan as I said and have never seen the colour of the flowers on Debbie, a friend bought it for me because of the name. If it ever flowers I will give you my opinion of the colour. I will definitely do what I can to get flowers next year.

Debs, not directly in response to your post, but they have just come out.

Debbie,  williamsii.  2023  This is not the normal shape.  Called waterlily type.  I also lost a lot of buds through not watering in the drought. But look at all that new growth, and I thought it was a cold winter.

This is a 2022 pic.  The more usual shape.

Camellia senator fletcher.  Just coming out.  Seems smaller this year.  The flower, that is.

    Just started.

Japonica Jupiter. (but I might have misnamed it)

I like that pink. Very pretty. I will feed Debbie today and try to keep on top of the watering. It’s in ericaceous compost in a big pot so fingers crossed for flowers next Spring

There's a massive light red one near to us almost as high and as wide as the two storey derelict house. Slightly acidic clay soil here.
    In London. Keen but lazy.

This one is looking nice now, lots of our other ones have struggled to keep their flowers with the unpredictable weather

Thank you! The funny thing is, a few years ago this bush dropped almost all it's leaves overnight and I thought it wouldn't survive. But I chopped  it down to just the bottom branches, and it hasn't looked back.  :)

If you chop then down, they just bud up and carry on.

But here is my latest camellia to open: Apollo; japonica with enormous flowers.
