  • I too have the older AC1 that UFF has. I only use it to water the pots when I go on holidays each year but it’s done everything I needed it to with no issues over the years. Good choice of programs and simple to select.

This is the one I'm currently favouring:

    Gardena Water Control Flex (1890-28)

It's cheaper here than Amazon plus they're only a few miles away so I can buy over the counter.

The thing about me is I change my mind frequently & often contradict myself :)

I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful

  • I have an AC plus bought some time ago as part of a kit, with pipes and drippers etc. I find it OK for my needs.
I agree though that Hoselock are not the quality they once were.  I am slowly migrating to Gardena as per @Topbird post.

I used to have the AC which was great, lasted quite few years no complaints. I then got a 2214 0000 last March. Not impressed I could not get the batteries to last more than 2 weeks, and that's with a 10minute water twice a day.. I have talked to another supplier who thinks I had a faulty unit but generally not great. I was happy with the AC and would prefer to use that again. I don't know what other peoples experiences have been....

In the end I bought this one, so I guess I should have worded my query differently. But thanks to the person who recommended Gardena.

Not tested yet though as it's one of OH's birthday gifts for next month.

I have yet to be disappointed with a Gardena product so I hope your OH is pleased with her gift @LunarSea. I also hope she has a very happy birthday🙂

Thankyou @Topbird. Her gifts are stacking up and there's more to come. Most unlike me to be so prepared, but then it is a significant birthday  :)
