Good to 'see' you @richardhodson :)
That C. mandshurica is beautiful. That might suit @BOTB perfectly.  :)

Not one I've ever considered for my garden as I wouldn't have a suitable site for it, but it's very tempting.

@Fairygirl thank you for tagging me and I agree, how beautiful! Off to google…
Bought some new hebe online yesterday at the fraction of the price of the garden centre so thanks for that suggestion also. X

I've just realised I tagged you @BOTB, when it was @harmony that was needing a climber! Apologies harmony.
I'll put it down to my age...

Hope your Hebes are good though BOTB  ;)

@Fairygirl I’m glad you did as we are doing the front garden this year and I like the idea of a clematis.

If you know what you are getting, there are bargains to be had online, by post, and from supermarkets.  But you can also be sold a pup.  Often something different, or undersize and too young.

Only go to a reliable, recommended supplier.  It is better to pay a bit more to get value-for-money.

Absolutely agree @punkdoc … one of the best there is … and I have absolutely no connection with them, other than as a customer.

Priorswood is another to add to your ‘trusted suppliers’ list. I was impressed by them.

Richard [Hodson] was very helpful to me last year when I was looking for a white clematis. Hagelby Hybrid was what he suggested, and it's settled in very nicely.  :)
