ID Umbellifer please

    Daucus of some kind?
    Maybe not the carota ours look finer leaved and they are biennial I think, but gingidium?

    My giant hogweed looks a bit like your pic at this time of year in its 2nd season.
     location: Surrey Hills, England, ex-woodland acidic sand.

    Would that have the Carrot leaf smell @Rubytoo? This hasn't

    Sorry don't know I think my sense of smell is a bit off. Can't smell anything on it sorry.
    I don't know if others do.
    Apologies as I thought they were different plants some are saying synonymous but this one in the remarks under nomenclature table says not.
    (The flower heads of gingidium are certainly a different shape from the one we grow which is D. carota).

  • @nutcutlet I have grown Sesili libonotis in the past a lovely plant. I think it is a short lived perennial?  Looks like it has changed it's name too, I am doubtful that is your plant.
    I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.

    these are all possibilities that I can't rule out. They are all things that have been here and I can't quite remember what they look like.
