@Jasminescent Your plant is an Anthurium but it is something I have never grown. There is advice on line but hopefully a forum member will be able to give you some good advice.
I have worked as a Gardener for 24 years. My latest garden is a new build garden on heavy clay.
Hi @Jasminesent I wouldn't normally be giving advice as I rely on the advice of others. I also have an Anthurium of which I am very fond and have had it a few years now. I would suggest repotting in a slightly larger post with it being so tall. I have had to repot mine at least a couple of times as the roots were coming out of the bottom and the plant thrived. There have been times when I have had at least 8 flowers on it. I need to feed mine so that it will produce some more for me. I only water it once a week or when the compost feels dry. I could do with repotting it again but don't think it would still fit on the window sill! I don't think you need to worry about it as they seem pretty resilient. Could get a photo tomorrow which I can put on to show you. Good luck.
My mum has a huge one. To be frank, it gives me the creeps. She has it in what looks like a too small container in a hot , bright south east facing porch. She gives it a good soak when she thinks of it. I would agree that they must be pretty tough. Do you think it's getting enough light? For reason stated above, I don't grow them either😉
@Jasminesent. I eventually got a pic of mine and could never consider it as "creepy"! Hoping for another burst of flowers in the near future. As @B3 suggested it doesn't look as though it is getting much light where it is.
@B3 Always look forward to seeing a new batch of flowers appearing. Hope you haven't put me off them! When it flowers I will put another pic on and see if you change your mind.
