Will my Ceanothus revive?

The winter snow and frost has, to the eye, killed my Ceanothus. It is a major feature so worried that it will not revive once the warmer weather arrives. Can anyone help me understand what i can do if salvageable? Thanks

They can be short lived anyway, even in average winters and weather, so it might be a goner.
Not much you can do except wait - cutting it back just now could be a death knell.

@boleyn_nick Many years ago every Ceanothus near to me died after a cold wet winter, You say your shrub is large and mature, sadly that also goes against it as they are not long lived. There is little you can do at present. If the top growth is OK you could consider crown lifting if the main trunk if it is a good shape. Goggles required!

I agree with previous posts. I've only had 2 in my gardens and both succumbed to frost before then even became mature. If there's no green showing then I'd say it's dead.

My dad's ceanothus went brown and crispy for no apparent reason at the end of summer, he can't get about so he didn't do anything with it, by spring it was back.
