Sadly the ability to delete a post is a WUM's charter ... they can say the most incendiary things; it'll be there long enough to upset some folk; and then they can delete it  >:)
Sadly there are always some "upset folk" who are quick to react to it and therefore give the WUM the reaction they wanted. The best way is ALWAYS to ignore "incendiary" posts.

Just realised that I've started this thread at the weekend when Catherine is off work.
Oh, right, let's have a party and create havoc then shall we?  >:):D

  • Hello! And lovely to meet you all. Sorry I've been very quiet until now, it's been a very hectic start to the year, getting to grips with everything.

Thank you for flagging those glitches, I wasn't aware of them. I'll talk to the tech team and see what can be done about them. The software that runs this forum is owned by a third-party, so some things are in our power to change, but others not, sadly.

I'd really love this forum to be a positive space, where people can share ideas, advice and support. So I really appreciate your help in fostering that atmosphere. And I'll do my best to deal with people who are detrimental to that.

    Keep up the good work!

    Thanks

Thanks for that message @Catherine Mansley. Hope all goes well for you  :)
The photo glitch is particularly infuriating - it's a fairly important item for a gardening forum, especially when people need help with an ID.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Thank you Catherine … and hi to you with your new hat on. 😀  I hope you enjoy your new role.

Hello from me too. It might not be in your job description but unwritten rules say management buys the cakes on members birthdays (ahem).  :#
