Ground Nesting Bees in Flower Bed

Hello,

Had small bees nesting in the ground of a flower bed last year. Entering through a 4" hole. Are they likely to be still there?

Thought it's better to check before starting to plant.

Possibly, but you'd see evidence of an overwintering queen going in and out in spring, and that will depend on the type of bee and your general climate/location.
