Currently still in the greenhouse but getting very big!!
Hope I don’t need to wait until May! 🤔

  • You don't need to wait till spring but as they are in the greenhouse you will be better off to harden them up a bit before planting. In previous years I've done this by placing them outside when the weather looks ok for a week or so (no freezing temperatures) and then after that leave them somewhere sheltered when we do get frosts. Foxgloves are very hardy and you may be fine just planting them if the ground isn't frozen but it doesn't take much effort to show a little kindness and hedge your bets.

Normally I wouldn't bother putting them in the greenhouse at all and I've seen much bigger plants and better flowering from the ones I've planted in the autumn. If they are still in pots then they don't need the protection of the greenhouse for winter.

    I agree.
I sow in July usually, so they're in 2L pots by the time the bad weather hits.
I move them to a relatively sheltered position behind the greenhouse when the first frosts are forecast and leave them there until I plant out - usually Feb-March.
