Sand for under a pre-formed pond?

    That's the problem with pre formed units.
    A liner is much easier.  :)
    You'll just have to keep filling around it, and checking the level, as I described earlier. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    I think you are right, and I'll go for a liner. I'll keep the pre-formed for the cat to fish for bits of carrot goldfish!

    I think that's wise  ;)
    Just make sure you get it big enough for the hole you've dug. Most sites have a table for working it out if you aren't sure - Bradshaws etc.  :)

    How much sand are you using? 

    If there's too little sand you'll probably get movement. 

    Looks like 3 or 4 bags would be needed.

    Good luck with it. You'll still need to get the level right, but it's much easier with a liner!
