Plant ID

Are these weeds I need to worry about, If not what plants are they please. Thanks in advance

    Could be a foxglove.
    If the back of the new leaves feel soft and fury, then most likely a foxglove.
    If the back of the new leaves feel rough and spikey, then maybe alkanet

  • They look like either Digitalis (foxgloves) or Verbascum (mullein) to me.

  • Yes Digitalis may be too small to flower this year but you never know!

    Mullein.

    I think verbascum (mullein) too.  Not alkanet.
    Gardening in East Suffolk on dry sandy soil.
  • I think Mullien leaves are more indented than Digitalis.

  • The first pic does look like a Digitalis and the 2nd one a Mullein.  Alkanet tends to have tiny white spots on the leaf surface ( not always easy to see ) and not as "furry " as the other 2.  It also has quite obvious black roots.
  • Is it possible that the second one is frosted?
