North facing fence

Has anyone got suggestions for shrubs to grow in front of a North facing fence.

    Can you give some more info @rpw72n - rough location, climate, soil etc?
    That will affect what will thrive, but things like Ilex [holly] Mahonia, Berberis, Eleagnus, Viburnum,  Pieris, Osmanthus, Philadelphus and Laurel will all grow in that aspect. 
    Skimmia, Rhodos and Camellias will also be fine if the soil isn't alkaline. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
