Cut back Leylandii hedge - ideas to cover it?

    Thanks for that info @barryjhassan. One thing you may need to bear in mind is that there's a height limit for hedges - 2m in most areas, so you may find some neighbours complaining if they aren't kept to that.
    As you have them well under control, it probably won't be a problem, but it's worth remembering.  :)
    Just make sure you prep the potential planting site really well. Those conifers can really deplete the soil, as many of us have said, so you'll need to be really vigilant about the aftercare too, and for a long time. Good luck with it all    :)

    My neighbour asked if he could trim our leylandii and this was the result. We would like to keep it but obviously not in its present state.  Could we do anything to hide the top?  Thanks
