I think there was a recent thread about citrus and @pansyface had some good input. I'll see if I can find it as it may be of use @Turtledancer . @Nanny Beach also grows quite a few but I haven't seen her on the forum much lately.
Morning fairy, yes, ongoing health problems since November me and my little (late) doggy have kept me buried!! Where are you situated poster? I think there's a lot of confusion as to what a heated green house means. I heard on radio 4 yesterday morning, there will be a shortage of peppers and tomatoes this year, because a lot of growers couldn't afford to heat their greenhouses. Get those seeds going forkers! I would say from the photo, the pot is too small, hubby uses a mix citrus compost and JA2. Apart from the calamondin, and mandarin, which are very tender and overwintering in the conservatory.... the lemons and grapefruit go into a greenhouse, which is completely "double glazed with bubble wrap", it's a 6x8, in their section,is a small electric tubular GH heater, and then they are covered with an extra layer of bubble wrap on a frosty night. This merely counts as a frost free greenhouse. They do get an occasional winter water on a mild day. In the beast from the east, the lemons lost their leaves,it's said they will below 12c,at that point we had -12c for a couple of days/nights, unheard of here. Our conservatory sometimes goes down to 10c overnight. They all bounced back in the spring. Where we used to live (west Sussex) a neighbour a couple of doors down, had a lemon about 4 feet high planted in the garden, not potted, didn't cover or protect it, said it had been there years. A neighbour here, very smugly told me her lemons were very happy in her south facing window, needless to say, they all died,(as have the orchids) they are trees, they don't like dry heat/central heating. Ours go in the shade outside in summer.
I seem to remember it was you @philippasmith2 that first advised about the seasonal feeding regime for my Meyer lemon and Limquat a few years ago. It has paid dividends so Thank You.
I have used a citrus summer feed, and the lemon was fine last winter. Its been colder this winter, so will, if it survives, make sure it's well covered, this coming winter. Thankyou all for the help.
