Brachyglottis Sunshine - Will it come back

Hi, I have two large swathes of Brachyglottis that has taken a real hit early this winter with the snow. Most leaves are dead, if you cut into some of the stems lower down they are still green. Any advice on how to take it forward? Does it just need all the dead wood cutting off and wait for new growth or is it done for?

Many thanks

You have checked further down and found green stems a good start. You will need to wait and see. It has been wet, which plants with silver leaves hate and of course cold too. I wouldn't cut it back now just wait until spring. The top growth will offer some protection.

They do tend to sprout from old wood so the prognosis is good!

Some Brachyglottis varieties have rather ugly (my taste ) colour flowers.  I like the leaves, I like the habit of growth, but I always pruned off the flowers.  It might be the time to review what you really want in that postion.

They are easy to root as cuttings.

There was one here when we bought the house. I didn't like the flowers so it got the chop every year so that it made new foliage. One year it turned up its toes and didn't regrow. No great loss for me.
