In Teessside, like many towns whose water source is moorland, the water was vey soft - and quite brown. The loo continually looked as if it needed flushing. But that was 1960s, might be diffferent now.

I would point out there is a difference between adding to tap water, for indoor plants, and your suggested usage as a weedkiller.
