The form of the tree looks like poplar but the leaves look like oak. Could be sp. beech though. Is it possible to show us a twig and a better specimen of leaf please?

Could be a fastigiate variety of oak.
location: Surrey Hills, England, ex-woodland acidic sand.

Might be a Fastigiate Oak -
Quercus robur Fastigiata Koster.
