Snowdrops in bud

I've received via mail order snowdrops that are in bud. I had expected plants ' in the green' after flowering. Will these still be ok? Presumably need to be planted ASAP.

If they're damp with soil and roots, they should be OK with a good water-in.

But with mail order, expect the unexpected.  If they don't flower well this year, ask for your money back.  Were they from a well-known source?

What a lovely surprise. You'll get the pleasure of them straightaway. They will be fine as long as you don't let them dry out so yes it would be a good idea to plant them asap remembering not to plant them in a dry position as they like moisture.

  • Yep they're from a big nursery and packed with soil and roots. I had intended to plant with volunteers next Saturday. Hoping if I keep them moist they'll be ok

That's good, best of luck with them, years of pleasure to look forward to.
