Why should "tea" be any better than total compost, except as a foliar feed.
In about March, I spead one year old compost on my best lawn. It greens it up and adds humus to the sandy soil. I mow it a couple of time, grass box off, in order to chop it up and spread it about.
Just what I do.
location: Surrey Hills, England, ex-woodland acidic sand. "Have nothing in your garden that you don't know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful."
@philippasmith2 I was specifically asking about using compost. Not looking for anything specific to give a plant but thought it would be good as a general fertiliser. Also interested if I can use it on my lawn.
Apologies. I hadn't actually heard of making a tea from compost as such - probably because I get enough rain here to turn everything liquid without much effort on my part There used to be 2 or 3 "lawn" posters on here - if the Search Facility has improved, you may be able to find something useful. Alternatively, try a new thread asking about "home made lawn feed". Someone may pick up on that
