I have 3 different types of Nepeta, it’s one of my favourite plants, I’ve got Nepeta Purrsian Blue which is quite neat and mound forming, Nepeta Six Hills Giant, taller and more sprawling and Nepeta Racemosa Mussinii, I’ve attached some photos 😀

The first photo shows 3 Nepeta Purrsian Blue and the second photo shows Nepeta Six Hills Giant at the back of the pond and Racemosa Mussinii front right of the pond.

  • Thanks for all the pictures and advice - I think the one on the thompson-morgan webpage is what I am looking for and I feel good about it now!   Roxanne is something I was also considering for that spot.  Wonderful as ever fellow gardeners!
  • @CatDouch gorgeous!!! Not just the nepeta but the surrounding plants.  I love it near the pond.
    New England, USA
Metacomet soil with hints of Woodbridge and Pillsbury

Thank you @CrankyYankee, the planting around the pond is alive with bees and pollinators in the summer which is fantastic to see and hear.

  • I wonder how you all get such progress with your plants.
I would love to give suggestions but all my catmints have been eaten down to the ground by our little fighting cat. As soon as she is in the garden she goes straight to the catmint.

    I my garden.

Thank you so much @Plantminded as a fairly novice gardener that’s made my day ☺️

  • Those pictures are lovely.  How long have you had the Purrsian Blue in place? - they look gorgeous and I didnt realise that variety would grow quite as significantly as that.

Hi, the whole area was planted in October 2020 and the photo was taken in May 2022.  This is another photo taken when I had just planted everything, I can remember thinking that everything looked so bare and regimental but I had planned it quite carefully leaving space for every plant and it worked out really well.  I can’t believe how everything grew so quickly.

  • It's a fantastic planting - congratulations.  You have great vision, it's what I find most difficult, so I tend to twiddle away and everything always looks very bitty.  Really, a wonderful job.
