Leaf Mould Ecstasy

Took Monty's advice last winter about making leaf mould and collected all our leaves into a couple of black plastic bags. I've emptied them and what a glorious pile of leaf mould just as it says on the tin. Will be mixing it in when I make up my pots. Cheers Monty.  Patem.

Glad you are pleased with it.

Last year I had an enormous pile of leaves. It rotted down beautifully but there was only enough to mulch one small border. It had rotted down to hardly anything.

I used to collect leaves in both a cage and in bags. I always found the stuff in the bags broke down more rapidly.
Haven't looked at the stuff I collected last autumn yet. Too much stuff in front of the bags just now, so it'll have to wait.  :)
That is the problem though @Busy-Lizzie - you need a fair old amount to make a decent amount, so you need the material, but also plenty of room initially to store it, until the process happens.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
