@februarysgirl just another suggestion is that i used Haxnicks grow bags last year and grew some things successfully (I bought the Vigoroot ones but I'm sure they're all fine).
I grew potatoes and carrots (in the deepest ones) and then chillis, baby spinach, rocket, radish, spring onion in the 40x30 ones. The vigoroot ones can be washed in the washing machine on a cold wash and will keep for ages.
As its a patio I would suggest these, as I have grown them in tubs before. Spring onions, the type I like best are Apache (a red one) and as you will have little room to do seeds, buy plug plants, I have had 30 to 50 from one 45cm tub. Lettuce maybe little gem which will work as a cut and come again crop in the middle, with four French beans around the edge on a wigwam of canes/string. Carrots do well , I use Speedo seed, which can be planted in March, kept covered until May, and then they will crop earlier, leaving room to put in a second sowing. The thing with potatoes and broccoli are they are long time to crop and small return I find in limited space. All of which are just suggestions @februarysgirl 😁
