We had a youngster [buzzard] caught in the front hedge at the end of 2021. He got himself out though. After the sparrows probably Buzzards are really common round here, but they don't often come near the gardens, although one was overhead with it's 'catch' last year or the year before. I love them
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

It's actually getting to the stage here now where I see Red Kites more often than I see Buzzards.
My neighbour has been putting white bread out for the birds every day. It still amazes me that people can't be convinced that it's bad for birds. I still see tons of the stuff floating around local ponds too, along with the plastic bag more often than not. I think even the ducks know it's bad for them now.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
Interesting @wild edges. I love the sound of buzzards. Always makes me calm. I know what you mean about the bread too. Drives me mad. The clown that lives across the back from me likes to chuck the heel, loaf ends, onto one of his various outbuilding roofs on a regular basis. Cue every seagull from Troon appearing..... A waste of bread too.

People are totally clueless, I despair of them. They also think plastic grass is a good idea, and I even saw some hedgehog killer on twitter the other day 😣

Are you absolutely certain that's a Buzzard @Fairygirl?
Clay soil - Cheshire/Derbyshire border. I play with plants and soil and sometimes it's successful
I suppose you're right @Fairygirl, I know there's always going to be someone who doesn't like a certain creature. But these days they're so rare you're lucky to see one anyway!
