We get the £69 payment only and are on pay as you go meters for both. The government payment is given in electric where as our heating is gas. Not sure why this is done I'm sure it's for a saving for the industry/government and not the customer. We can afford to have our heating on for two hours a day. It was 11 degrees when we woke this morning... Managed to get it up to 13. When I come home from working outside all day, I sit in the garden for about half an hour.... Feels warm when you go inside then 😜
We got £200. because we’re not on gas! Our oil will be a lot cheaper than last years as the petrol’s back down in price. @WonkyWomble I hope your husband will be ok after this, it’s not good for him. You’re right about the government, they’ll all be getting these payouts as well😡🤬

@Lyn, I lost all hope and faith in equality or fairness in this world a long time ago. I don't let it get me down just fight the battles I can and look after those I can. One thing our families current situation has confirmed to me is those with little help others and those with everything find excuses to do nothing or as little as possible. If anything, it's also confirmed that I don't want to ever be rich.... Comfortable would be nice but I'd hate to turn into one of those types of people!!
The pay as you go meters are a disgusting exploitation of people IMO @WonkyWomble. I'd never experienced them until I had to live in a refuge for a while, and it was horrifying how they ate money up. I know many people will do anything to avoid paying for leccy, and landlords can have a hard time with that, but there are just as many, if not more, who are only just getting by, even when working full time, and it's despicable that they're penalised again by having to have them, and paying over the odds.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I think it's because everyone (almost) has an electricity connection but a lot don't have gas, so it's a way of finding most individual homes.
If it makes all of you feel any better, we haven't had any of the subsidies at all because we're not a 'household'. I think people in park homes are still mostly waiting because they don't have individual electric meters. It's not means tested, but not everyone has had the support.

Im afraid this is the way of the world and has ever, thus been. There have been struggles from the beginning of time, a class systems, etc. I accepted my place in it a long time ago, and accept all the idiosyncrasies that come with that. I try not to lose too much sleep in getting too upset about the imbalance of wealth and fortune. I cannot do anything to change what is.
Our monthly £67. is put into the bank account, maybe because we don’t use anywhere near that much a month in electric. The £200 is for people who don’t use gas.
@WonkyWomble you don’t have to turn into an a-hole when you have money, I’d help anyone, I’ve already give the previous lot of money away. Surely it wouldn’t cost more to means test this and give more to the lower paid workers and less to the millionaires , I don’t understand politics at all.
I had a key meter a while ago, had to do a 10 mile trip to the Spar shop to get it charged up. Fortunately I could keep my car running, it was the first priority living in the back of beyond.

That's disgraceful @raisingirl! I'd be writing to the MP!! Make them work in their tax funded heated offices!
Oh it's all within their 'rules' for us, so nothing we can do. Park homes people are another story - accidental oversight - hopefully the wheels will slowly grind to an answer but I feel very sorry for them - lots of pensioners in those homes.
I sort of agree songbird, but then again I disagree. Whilst it's not worth losing sleep over things we can't change, getting angry is the only way to change the things that can be altered. Just shrugging and saying 'twas ever thus' allows those who manipulate the system to carry on doing so with impunity. I will make it hard for them, if I can, even if I can't stop them. Ignoring it means it'll definitely carry on, trying to change it means it'll probably carry on.

I don't ignore such things @raisingirl, quite the opposite in fact. In my lifetime I have felt as aggrieved as the next man, but the older I've got the more philosophical I've become in knowing what I can and cannot change. Me getting angry about something, doesn't change it. It just sends my blood pressure up, nobody else's.
I have never been one to participate in demonstrations, maybe I would be different if I had, but I've seen the devastation on peoples faces, who have lost family members, too too early, and who have realised that they have wasted such a lot of time arguing with others, shoving their opinions in their faces and down their throats, and all to no avail. Our time is precious, and life is, ever thus. It is how we have evolved.
It is unfair, it is unjust, the rich get richer, the poor get poor.Unless we have a revolution it will continue. Perhaps we need the next meteorite to strike? Wipe us all out and start again.

@Fairygirl...I never understood why when you've already paid for it, it should cost more.... The only situation that happens as far as I'm aware.
