Tulip bulbs planting and storing

I have some tulip bulbs I haven't planted yet. The ground at the moment is really wet so I don't want to plant them now. What is the latest I can plant them and if it's too late this year can I store them and plant next year . And how do I store them somewhere dark and cool. Sorry for questions but I am a total novice

    Pot them up and keep them somewhere out of the worst of the wet weather.
    If your ground isn't well drained, it won't be a good site for them anyway  :)

    Don't store them - it won't help them at all, and you risk losing them to damp/rot or drying out, and they won't stay viable for next year either  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Agree with @Fairygirl, although you can leave planting up until Christmas time.

    Thanks both I'll do that. The ground is normally well drained but having had a couple of weeks of rain it just looks too soggy to plant anything and I thought it might be too late
