Pets tend not to be known about, as one day you will find your bunny dead without it having looked ill @MikeOxgreen Show rabbit breeders go into quarantine for three months after the last death, before they are allowed to enter a show hall again , to either show, judge or visit. Unfortunately this has not stopped it reappearing , even in quarantine stock that has been in their hutches all the time, and their owners have stayed away from shows. RHDV is like bird flu in that respect, as it can come in on food, bedding, clothes, or wildlife.
Rabbits all but disappeared in my area but now seem to be making a comeback. Avian flu has been a big problem with the sea bird population though. This is drone footage of the Bass Rock off the Scottish East Coast. It’s the breeding ground of the worlds biggest Northern Gannet colony.
It's been a big problem in the islands for a while @DaveGreig, and there's been outbreaks in a couple of places around Glasgow - popular public ponds etc. Fingers crossed recovery will happen. It's a horrible thing, and wipes out colonies so easily.
Myxy seems to come and go too, but you know what those rabbits are like. They breed like...well...rabbits...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
