It looks a bit like a blackcurrant bush to me.

They won’t kill you, but they’re sparse and not really pleasant like their culinary cousins … and theyre a valuable good source for the birds 😊

Good! There were no birds in the garden when we moved into the house a few weeks ago, we put up feeders and now have a regular crew of a robin, coal tits, a blue tit or two, blackbird and a wood pigeon !

By the way, when it’s really really cold blackbirds love porridge oats sprinkled on the ground.
We buy some of the very cheap ones and save them for when the frosts and snow arrives.
