Although the flower colour appeals to me in pictures, having seen Salome in real life, I wasn't impressed; the flowers aren't very prolific and don't stand out very much.
In my garden I'm a big fan of G. x cantabrigiense 'St Ola', so pretty when in flower and forms very neat clumps for the rest of the time.

That's interesting @Loxley. Thanks for that info. I can now stop perusing and making lists. Or at least -make the lists shorter...
St Ola was another one I wondered about. It looked good, and I like lots of ground cover. I imagine it would be ideal for having spring bulbs amongst it too, or is too dense for that?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
