Hi all , I have began a garden project on a sloping garden, I have excavated the area around 1.7m deep on the back edge, due to the heavy rain we have had lately it is like a bog at the moment , I am planning on installation a membrane and 200mm type 1 over the surface when it has dried out, would this be suitable ? It seems to be holding a fair bit of water just looking for some pointers if any one has experienced this before, I’ll post some pictures below, and advice would be greatly appreciated , thanks.

We then compacted it all with a whacker plate before putting decorative granite chips on top. That was 20 years ago, and it's been OK since ... however, it wasn't on a slope.
Maybe you need to let it dry out first and do your work once you can be sure the slope will be stable.
