What's a great non-slip material?

Do you have a Wilkinsons store near you? I believe they do home delivery if not. They sell rolls of a non slip woven sort of plastic waffle material. We’ve used Ito the past on touring caravan shelves. Currently use it on tea trays to haveTV suppers. Also have a larger piece we take on holidays to use as a shower tray mat. Hope this helps.

I wasn't joking. Glue strips to the work top and the base of the machine or just at the corners.  You can get heavy duty stuff😊

Ha! Sorry I did actually think you were pulling my leg. Yeah that might work but the worktop surface is very smooth like glass/marble, so I imagine that it would need some serious heavy duty glue to keep it in place. Thank you anyway B3!
  • Would one of those rubber type mats people put in a shower tray work?

Also a good idea. I'm sure there are some super non-slip shower mats out there, but I don't want to be that guy who goes in the shop asking to feel how grippy all the shower mats are  :D

Or, how about the stuff you can put under rugs to stop them slipping on a hard floor?

Worst case option-  is there somewhere at the back where you could attach a bracket (or something) then secure it to the wall to stop it moving?
It has a brick wall at the back and a kitchen cupboard next to it on the right. Maybe I would do something like a bracket if I was feeling ambitious in my own home, but because it's not my kitchen I just want an effective solution that is as simple as possible (K.I.S.S principle simplicity). Thanks and your suggestion gave me some other ideas, but I still prefer the simple rubber mat solution which might also have the added bonus that the rubber may also reduce some of the noise and vibrations when the machine is active, MAYBE.

Yeah that's the kind of grip I'm looking for.

Wiko's? That sounds like it could be perfect. Is this the stuff?

I think the car mat would be grippier, not sure those sm rolls are heavy duty enough to cope with the machine vibrations, we have those in drawers and they barely hold the cutlery tray in place! You need a really stable table too, unless fixed like a work surface you might find that starts walking across the floor by itself.
I think that maybe the weight of the dishwasher would help grip it in place, it's not that heavy but, about the weight of a large microwave maybe, but much heavier than a full cutlery tray.

You could be right about the sm roll slowly deteriorating from the vibrations, but I've decided to try it tomorrow anyways as it's only £1.

Thanks everyone for the great suggestions!

I had some of the Tesco stuff that @EricsGarden linked to. I used it, cut to shape, underneath ceramic plant containers to stop them marking the wndowsills and furniture. I don't think it would hold against a firm tug.
You might be right. I'm hoping that gravity pushing the dishwasher down onto the Tesco stuff will help keep it in place better. There's only one way to know for sure, and I'll know by this time tomorrow.
